I was out with two female friends on Friday. We were at bar with a small dance floor and loud hip hop music. We were dancing near the dj booth and a hottie walked right past us, got the dj's attention and asked him something that I couldn't hear.
I went over and asked her if she just requested a song. She said that she'd never do that and that she's a dj herself (at another spot). I asked what her name was (meaning her dj name) and she gave me her actual name. Then it went like something this:
me: Are you any good?
her: Yeah, but I don't play hip hop. I play house music.
me: [making a disgusted face] I can't dance to that stuff.
her: No, you can! It's not like the rave stuff you're thinking of. It's some soulful sh*t.
me: So I don't have to be on X or have any glow sticks?
her: No, you'd like it. [laughing pretty hard]
me: Do you promise? [offering my hand]
her: Yes. [smiling and shaking my hand]
me: Maybe I'll come by.
her: Let me give you a card. [then she goes into the dj booth, looks for the flyers and hands me one] I'm there again next weekend.
me: [handing her my pen] Autograph it.
her: What?
me: Autograph the card. I'm going to give it to you when I see you in the club so you'll remember me.
her: [laughing] Oh, I'll defintely remember you. [then she smiles and signs the card] Defintely come by.
Then I told her I had to go and got a hug goodbye. [I should have pointed to my cheek to see if I could get a kiss, oh well] Anyway, I know this is a long shot, so if you've got any tips you've always wanted to try out in this situation, let me know what they are.
