ok im a huge gym guy, been a member since i was in highschool, best buddies with my gym owner, used to go in and mind the gym for him here and there.
the gym is a funny place. for many it is a refuge from the world/family/work, and they appreciate personal space a LOT more in there. violating personal space and overexpressing interest is a lot easier in the gym. then again, the commonality you have being 2 gym goers makes a few things easier.
if youre a mega high value direct guy, you can do what you want in the gym, just like everywhere. but for most people in the seduction community, youre probably a normal guy and face a few pitfalls that you want to avoid.
so the 2 things i do in the gym before chatting to someone are:
1) say hi to everyone, especially the counter staff or other women (married ones are awesome for this). you dont do this for the social proof - you do it to reduce the social pressure when you do finally talk to your target. mr talk-to-everyone is a lot less threatening (and obvious) than mr only-talks-to-the-hottest-thing-in-the-room interest expressing guy.
2) work out on stations nearby, but dont make eye contact and the usual afc goofball shit. there are mirrors galore in gyms, youll get caught. demonstrate that youre there to train, and that your interest is in the equipment. ask to work in or how many sets she has to go - politely, with a businesslike air, and a smile. do the same thing to adjacent people and let her hear, so that your behaviour is congruent.
cut a long story short the rules are the same sarging in the gym as elsewhere - active disinterest bla bla bla. the difference is that 1) you have a captive audience, your target will be there everyday for the next year, and you can afford to take your time a bit more, especially dealing with ultra hot chicks, and 2) the personal space boundaries.
if you have those baselines under control, you can game on
dont get me wrong, you can do a bunch of stuff like assume comfort and work in on her station etc etc and that may work if congruent with the rest of what you do, but imo picking up in the gym is a bit like picking up at the office.
when all else fails...go caveman
