Conan AMOGed him. I thought Conan was (is) an ass. He made the whole segment about him, making Mystery look like a joke. If you're worried about pickup becoming too mainstream, that segment didn't do anything to sell the book. Mystery handled himself well, but still couldn't get an word in edgewise.

I was waiting for Mystery to start tearing Conana up. Never came.

Yep! Didn't change his talking speed, didn't try to qualify himself, and remained very confident. Go Mystery!

I never did like Conan. Now I have additional reason. Why on earth does he try to tool Mystery? No wait, he tries to tool a lot of people. Shame hes taking over for Jay Leno in a few years. Leno is in a different league than Conan.

I actually enjoyed that segment. It appears that Conan is intimadated, but if you look closely, Tina Fey is intrugued... thats all that matters. Conan's response to intimidation is defense(making jokes). But look at Tina toward the end, her posture seems to portray intrest, and that my friend is recorded proof of how this game of interaction works...

I rewatched the segment with my friend from work, who is an AFC who has been married for a while. He said it looked like the book has a lot of good information. Watching it the second time made me realize that Mystery got some good nuggets in there. Unfortunately, many people will come away from that interview with just:
"I HAVE LEFT THE HOUSE AND I AM WEARING GOGGLES!"

Conan is awesome! I rarely watch the show but think he does an awesome job.

I knwo mystery has been on a talk show before, but was he on conan in the past?

I remember a picture where he is at a talk show, with will smith i think.

I am probably going to get shot over this by all of you but I was actually disappointed with Mystery last night.

Anyone who has done any public speaking at all knows that you should speak to the lowest common denominator. In this case, it was the TV viewers who know nothing about the PU community.

Mystery had an opportunity to do some good for the community - stage the book as a tool for those who need help with basic dating skills and are looking to improve themselves.

Instead, Mystery used a lot of PU code words (i.e. "in field") and left himself open to be made fun of. He came across sounding kind of geeky actually.

Overall, I thought Mystery did a good job of holding his own against Conan but I don't think he promoted the book or the community well. Conan was being funny as he is paid to do and PU is an easy target for Conan to get some laughs. I actually laughed at the goggles joke as it WAS funny.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a Mystery hater. In fact, I have seen some videos of him out and about and he juggles so many complex PU tactics at once it is pretty amazing. It was astonishing and admirable the way he pushed through several shit tests in one video I saw. However, I don't think he came across all that well on Conan. Not that I could do any better on national TV.....
