I was just reading today that 80% of women cheat. All this time I was thinking that we were the bad guys. How wrong I was!!!

According to a Cosmo poll, women cheat more. The source is here: http://magazines.ivillage.com/cosmopolitan/men/menu/articles/0,,426370_525871,00.html. Though surveys can be misleading - I am sure there are surveys out there that say the exact opposite...

Women are probably genetically disposed to being careful cheaters. Men get caught more since they have less vested in a relationship with a women, genetically, than women with a man. Women, who loose their mate, and thus support, is a huge detriment to the welfare of their children, and thus their genes. So they are careful not to get caught. Also, it is in a womens genetic interest to vary the genetic fusion of her genes and another mans - the variety providing more of a chance for her genes to be passed along and survive, especially with another man she deems, consciously or subconsciously, posses superior genes.

Further, it may be in a mans genes interest to get caught! If caught, severs the relationship and allows him to be free to pass on his genes to other mates. Cruel, though this is nature. And the Genes that are passed on the most are the genes that survive and spread.

P.S. For a more equal perspective, I also placed this survey on a site like dallaspua.com, though it is dedicated for women :) Posted it at www. constant chatter. com/forum under ChitChat.

P.P.S I broke up the link as to prevent people from clicking on it to go to the site... if you did, the owners of that site could trace that link back to this site, and I would prefer to keep this site (i.e. dallaspua.com) a secret.

According to a Cosmo poll, women are the ones getting extra action.
Can you honestly say you've never smooched a random Romeo even when you had a sweet boyfriend?

Cosmo conducted an online poll of 1,000 single men and 1,000 single women, and 55 percent of guys and a shocking 59 percent of ladies said they have cheated on a partner. We asked relationship therapist Bonnie Eaker Weil, Ph.D., author of Make Up, Don't Break Up, to explain why women are more apt to wander.

# We Get Off on the Rush
Women crave the endorphin high from the initial attraction they feel toward a new guy.

# We Want Attention
Girls may cheat because they feel taken for granted. A new lover gives them the TLC that their beau doesn't.

# We Feel Pressured
When women stress (especially over their guy), they may seek out another stud to lean on as a distraction.

Point number 1. You have to wonder if you've been doing things right all along. If the girl is going astray it's because you were not providing enough excitement and/or adventure. That's what attracted her to you in the first place remember?

Point number 2. This directly relates to number one because when you first meet someone new, you get that rush and those butterflies in your stomach. After a while people get comfortable with each other and the feeling wears off. Think about it. If you've ever cheated, why was it? You were either bored with the relationship or you never got any lovin from your mate. (if you did, it was bland)

Point number 3. This is the one I have the biggest problem with. Women tend to hide things when there is a problem.

"What's wrong honey?"

"Nothing."

"OK, cool."

"You asshole. I'm going to sleep with your best friend because of what you did."

Guys pick up really easy when a girl is emotionally unstable. When she's emotionally unstable it's a given people are going to try and take advantage. Learn to take care of things right now instead of later when things could be more problematic.

I think that women cheat because they want an alpha to give them a child, but they want a beta around to help raise it. This is all on an unconscious level of course. She has a replication agenda she’s unaware of. She may even be using birth control so as not to get pregnant. But, she's been programmed by nature to have her desires.

I'm almost a %100 percent sure that there is some survey out there that says the exact opposite... how could you get scientifically proven results on a topic like that when you have a HUGE chance that the people you ask have a very strong capability of LIEING. So I really don't pay any attention to surveys like that. I personally think they're practically impossible to get even close to accurate results on them.

You are correct, surveys can be manipulated by the type of questions they use. Same with statistics. Though I do know it is possible to get highly accurate statisitcs/surveys by a trained porfessional. Also, there are techniques to get the information out of surveyed indivuduals with less of a chance of them lieing - much involved a deep understanding of the mind and psychology.

This informal survey reflects the beliefs of the men on this board. Do men really cheat more than women. That is certainly a belief that our society tells us. And it is a belief you must now question.

If any of you guys don’t believe women cheat as much as men, get a copy of “The Mating Mind.” You’ll see what a freak show humans really are.
