It seems like it is so much harder for me to strike up a conversation in day game, if I am at the store and I see a girl I like, it is harder for me to talk to her than if the same girl is at the bar. How can I get over this?

that's pretty normal b/c it's more accepted to do a pick up at a bar. What you should think of is approaching her and asking a simple question about her that you are curious about. Most women are open to answering an out of the blue question as long as you keep your distance and it's something innocent. You have to get in the mindset that you are not talking for the purpose of getting a phone number or a date, but you have genuinely created an element of curiousity about something concerning her. It can also accomplish getting a look at her up close; seeing her teeth, how her mouth moves etc. It's something you may not like anyway once you see it up close so there's no need to be nervous about it.

Sunday I was at a gas station and noticed a girl that I purposely got behind in the cash register line. She had on cowgirl boots. I asked if those were the kind of boots you would put those chrome spiked spinning things on the back. She did a little fake laugh and said she'd never thought about it. I said then, what are those things called. She said a spur. I said, Oh that's right. Even though I already knew the answer. At that point I have a pretty good idea by her body language if the conversation is worth pursuing.

I always do situational/observational openers during the day. I also do not worry about keeping my space.

For instance, I was in starbucks this morning and there was a hb7 in front of me. I noticed she had a tatoo on her wrist. So i said....

"Hey that's a really cool tatoo, may i see it? She held her hand out, and got the friendly smile. I took her hand and looked over the tatoo (which was a butterfly) and said, that's really cool, does it mean anything to you? ...... "

This launched her into a conversation about her sister and cancer, blah blah. What her response gave me though were other threads to pull on for conversation. We sat down outside on the patio, had coffee, and I number closed her. I love day game, but then again, i find club/night game to be difficult because the type of interaction above is expected and rebuffed.

Ways to overcome your fears:

1) Set clear intentions and goals for yourself.
2) Focus on one step at a time. You will not get laid then and there (probably.. hopefully), so slow down and go step by step
3) Write out sample interactions at home to practice.
4) Come up with a scripted stack that you can fall back on whenever you see a girl you like.
5) Consider every approach an experiment. You are trying to figure out what works, the more you practice you more you'll know.
6) Go out with a wing who will legitimately PUSH you into sets.
7) Talk to guys and un-attractive women.
Stop believing that day game is harder (because it's NOT). Girls are SO IMPRESSED when you approach them during the day in a genuine manner, it demonstrates more confidence than when approaching in a club.
9) Read an ebook on day game and apply ONE PRINCIPLE to focus on. Just focus on that ONE PRINCIPLE. Small chunk like this to give you focus and a reason to approach.

Most importantly. Believe you are money. You are the prize. THE GIRL WANTS TO MEET YOU AND HAVE SEX WITH YOUR DICK. GIVE HER TO OPPORTUNITY TO FIND OUT FOR HERSELF!
