Last Sunday I'd made a plan for this chick to come over to my place. She said she had to go and see a friend's band play, but would be done by 6 and would text me when she was free. At 7 I hadn't heard from. This is our text thread.

S: If you can't make it let me know so I can make other plans.
HB: I'm stuck for another hour I think. I still want to come hang out, but I understand if yo have something else you'd rather do.
S: I'll give you another hour. But if you can't make it let me know. Don 't be rude.
HB: Not trying to be rude. Just got tied up.
S: I understand. I just want you to let me know if you can't make it. It's all good. Cool?
HB: OK.

45 mins later.

HB: Looks like I'm not going to be able to break away for a while. Can we rain check for tomorrow? So so sorry.
S: I work all night Mon, Tue and until midnight Wed. But, I'll give you a chance to make it up to me.
HB: Thanks.

I had a feeling this chick was going to flake, so I had another option planed. I wanted to let her know that I don't appreciate her flaking without seeming needy about it. Do you guys think I handled this well?

When she first said that she had plans, you should have backed off a little and said something like "We can get together after the band or you just can go home alone and think about it."
Or "Just text me later and see if I'm free. Maybe, maybe not".

This is a flaky chick anyway. She told me she'd hang out before she said anything about seeing her friend's band. She likely forgot she'd made that appointment. So, that wasn't really an option.

Good news is she just sent me a text inviting me to hang out with her tonight. But, I have to work.

I wouldn't even reply to flakey messages... It's important to really not care if she shows up or not... And calling her out on it is like rubbing her nose in it, (she won't do it again, because she knows bad emotions are tied to the response)...
Ultimately, I wouldn't care at all or worry about her flakiness, girls do that because they're unsure, it's better to not worry about someone who isn't sure & find someone who is sure.

I agree. I have hooked up with this chick sense I first posted this. My whole thing was to put her in her place. If she has something else to do she should have called and let me know. It was rude of her to leave me hanging. I wanted to let her know she was being rude.

It wasn't a big deal. I went out an had fun anyway.
