I've been thinking a lot about value and how it relates to pick-up. Each of us must know what our greatest value is and how to best display it. As a matter of fact, if your DHV is strong enough chicks WILL open you. I've had this happen often while sitting around in a coffe shop playing guitar.

So, with the idea of learning and improving, what is your unique talent and how do you show it off?

No one knows how to DHV? Maybe that's the trouble many are having. All of us have unique quilities. The things that make us differant. Maybe you are great with children, maybe you can write poems, maybe you are a great camper.

As for myself, I can finger pick guitar. I play Blues from the 1920s. It's not a DHV for every chick, but the ones that do get it, LOVE it. Although, it can be difficult to display this quility. I used to hang out in a coffee house and sit in a corner and play. Women and men alike would start conversations with me. But, that place has closed now and I'm having trouble finding another place where that kind of thing fits in.

I'm not sure many of my DHV type talents are easily shown. I am a manager, so I can lead well and make decisions, I work with teenagers, so I get along well with them, I know my stuff about cigars (could be DLV for some girls, but whatever), I like good beer , I love my family, etc. Most of my really cool DHV stuffs are one time story types (skydiving, etc).

I think cold reads are a pretty good dhv I do them from time to time with women and they look at me like I can't believe this guy knows so much about me. Attraction spikes big time.

I was out in Austin with a friend this weekend and he did what is called the "oblique" DHV.
(Reference: Venusian Arts Handbook, Mystery Method).

The oblique DHV is done where the target hears or sees the DHV indirectly. For example, you talk to her friend and tell her something cool about yourself. The target overhears the conversation.

This weekend, my friend was sitting at an Austin bar and sitting next to him was a dude and a pretty hot asian chick.

So my friend asks the guy "Hey wasn't this a Spanish restaurant a few years ago?" and the guy says yes. They talk for a few minutes and the guy tells my friend that he's old. The guy is 45.
So my friend says "No way! Man you don't look a day over 30. What do you do? Work out? Eat right?"
And this guy buys it and they begin to really hit it off.

All the while the hot asian girl is watching this and probably listening in as well.
She can't really burst into the conversation because she's a woman and the two guys are being buddy-buddy. So the sexual tension is building and building...

Finally, after a minute, she comes over and talks to my friend. He knew a little about Asian cultures and he was able to tell that she was Korean, which she was.

Well, after meeting this charming young man, the girl comes over to my friend again and says "I can introduce you to some Asian girls next door at the other bar." while she pressed her tits into him.

The point of this long ass reply is not a field report but to showcase an awesome technique.

When approaching a mixed set, be complimentary to the guys. This will DHV obliquely.

It is because my friend was able to compliment this guy that the girl was impressed.
