Good areas to live in

I'll be in Dallas for around 4 months this summer, and have started looking for housing.
Which areas have a good nightlife / bar scene? I'd prefer to live somewhere close to that so I can go out several times a week.

If I was going to move to Dallas I'd live in Deep Ellum. But, I'm fond of the artistic types and I have a few friends in the movie biz living there.
I suppose Addason is alright if you are into that type of girl. The type Bret Easton Ellis writes about.

Yeah, I should have specified the type of girl I like: I'm more into the chic / elegant brunette. Mediterranean type women.
