On your dating website ad, do you guys list "wine" as one of your interests? I see a lot of females that list it, and thought it might be breaking one of those unwritten man laws if I listed it as an interest of mine.

David DeAngelo says women are not attracted to lower status men. Wine helps create a frame of a higher status.

I suppose again, this depends on what kind of woman you are going for. The older the woman and more mature she is, the more classy she perceives herself then I say wine is a good thing.

Although, even a very classy and hot woman may not want a man she perceives as high status for a quick fuck.

Depends on your goal. Are you looking for sex or a relationship? If you are looking for sex, then maybe leave it out.

I say if you're looking to get laid, mention you love Mad Dog 20/20, haha. This will get a laugh and get you laid. Seriously though, I say paint a picture of higher social status when possible.

Of course, I don't see why not.

BTW, I cracked a 1998 Dry Creek Reserve Cab last night...it was the bomb.com.

I do, but I really do not know it it breaks an unwritten rule.

I have taught myself a lot about wine, and am always looking for new and exciting wines.

But I also enjoy fine scotches and absinthes.

I find that when you are talking about wine, as long as you are not a snob about it, you can get into a few fun conversations.

Chicks are hard to read on wine. Multiple times they've tried to one-up me before they knew what they were getting into then pretty much embarrassed themselves. I don't make it a contest, but I guess they want some social proof too, but it usually backfires because they think their mother drank shit out of a box to take the pain away, and that somehow conveyed a deft palate by osmosis. So I pretty much just STFU about it.

Theres nothing wrong with liking wine. If you like it, go for it. We talk about things we like and are passionate about.

I've personally never gotten into wine much at all. Not because of a class or status thing,. but as a matter of taste....literally. I dont like the taste of the stuff for the most part.

Now, cigars on the other hand...mmmmm...yummy. :)

Most chicks say they like wine but they have no knowledge of wine. It's sort of one of those popular things right now. Everyone in Dallas thinks they're a fucking wine expert.

I'd only list it if you truly are into wine. Otherwise you're telling people things that aren't true and that's just a weak frame.

I would suggest learning about scotch, good tequila or something you enjoy. Learn how to talk the talk and how to order. Add that to a cigar and you improve your status frame. Personally I like wine but it doesn't work with every woman. Usually all women expect a man to like scotch or something along that line.

nothing wrong with wine or listing it.

just don't be wine douchebag....

Know how to order it properly and enjoy it, just don't try to talk over your head about it, or hell even talk about other than passing comment on the taste, else you become wine douchebag trying to impress rather than a man enjoying it .
