The best things in life are free.

Alright, I'm and artist. I have my own business that I am slowly building but it is being hindered by the same things that are keeping me at home and dateless. I just finished college which I went back to after 10 years of hating life as a moderately successful computer nerd.

Now, heres the thing, I'm dead broke. I have money trickling in enough to buy gas for my car, do covers and buy the occasional beer but, I ain't gonna impress anyone with cash flow (not that I'd want to). My question for everyone in DFW is:

What is there to do in this town that is FREE. I once played the bridge over Oak Lawn just before it hits 35. Of course that can get you busted if you ain't careful. Anyone got any ideas?

I am not sure if its free, but the Dallas Museum of Art is a good place to chill for a bit. You can go up to the Reunion tower( the Dallas Ball that lights up). They have an observatory that overlooks downtown Dallas. Its free and its an amazing sight. Girls will definitely like it.. Be sure to have some romantic shit planned for when you are up there. Its a nice sight, but it gets boring after a few minutes of looking.

If you are looking for some place to chill, well then you should hit up a lake man. Take a walk or something. Grapevine Lake is nice, and they got some secluded spots you can park or take a walk.

Good stuff. I know there are a bunch of galleries in town. Openings are usually free, invitation only events. I was thinking about hitting galleries and getting invited to openings. What other stuff like that do you know about?

I enjoy playing disc golf. It's free (after you buy a disc) and I'm sure there are some good courses in Dallas.

As to the cash flow problem, what's stopping you from earning what you want to earn? Most of the guys I know from the community are pretty intelligent and have at least above avg leadership skills. Have you ever considered working in IT, which is a high-paying field, and saving & investing your money until you're finanacially independent?

Disc golf, that's a cool idea. I like it. It's social, public, it's an invite along type of thing.

As for money, I gave up a good career in IT because I hated it. I am building my own business as an graphic artist so cash is tight till I get going. You wanna buy a custom tee shirt? Do you know anyone else who would? I do lots from 1 to 100,000

Mustang Plaza

Postby dex » Sun Jan 14, 2007 11:38 pm

Mustang Plaza is a neat area to go in las colinas. On one side of the street are the Canals with walkways, stores, and a couple of places to eat. On the other side is the actual Mustang Plaza that has those metal horses in the fountain. At night it is lit up nicely and youll see some couples getting cozy in the little nooks built into the plaza. An ideal place to bring a girl and bottle of wine.
