I think I should have said something...

Classes just started this week. In one class there are two girls who were in a class I had last semester, HB7countrygirl and olderfriend. Also in this class is Countrygirl's twin sister. Myself and olderfriend have shaped this little foursome into a study group of sorts.

We've been using one of the computer labs to do some work. Every few minutes Countrygirl will ask me a question or ask me to look at what she's working on. Every time I help her I tease her and kino the hell out of her. She's a little dim so she needs lots of help.

So, Thursday after class we're all out in the hall talking. Countrygirl is to my left Olderfriend to my right and Twin I think had walked off talking on her phone. A guy walks up on my left and he and Countrygirl start talking. It's obvious they know each other. I ignore it and continue the conversation I'm having with Olderfriend. I didn't really think about it at the time.

This popped into my head this morning and I decided I made a mistake here. I think I should have introduced myself to the guy and then turned and introduced him to Olderfriend since she was right there. For one it seems kind of rude for us not to talk since the guy is now standing right next to me. Also it would have helped to establish this guy in my social network. My thinking here is that the more people who know me the more social proof I have. Also since he is obviously friends with Countrygirl making him a friend might help my chances specifically with her.
