Peacocking help

All,
I wouldn't say I dress terrible if trying to clean up, but I definitely don't stand out. Part of my problem is I am short so it is hard to find good stuff that fits unless I get it tailored. I definitely am not a Mystery type to wear leather pants and shit. The look i'm going for is clean and smooth.

So, my question is where is a place many of you shop? What do you usually where out? Is there a good place to get some decent men's jewelry?

You'd have to describe in a bit more detail about what kind of look you are going for. For instance, if you're looking to put a bit of a rock edge to your style, I'd suggest something like

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/

This place has some stuff that's WAY out there, but definitely some unique pieces that can add perfect peacocking flare. If online shopping isn't you're thing...there are a couple locations in the metroplex...I tend to hit the one by SMU due to the quality of women in the area : )

If you're going for more of a sleek/professional/mature look, you can do that easy...just go to your local mall and step inside Express for Men or places similar. Again, give more details and I should be able to send ya in the right direction.

I am looking for more professional/sleek type look. It is more my style. I have plenty of button downs and slacks from work i guess I could wear out, but I just usually throw on jeans.

Unfortunately I am terrible with style, but places like aeropostale and express would probably be the types of places I would pick stuff up at.

I'm going to assume you're out of high school/freshman year of college...so imho I'd suggest to steer away from Aeropostale.

You don't want to take your work attire to a club, but you can still keep some elements of it. Button ups with graphics printed/sewn in to them....let me find an example...

best I could find in a couple minutes.

jeans with one of your work shirts...with a...lets say graphic t-shirt under also brings sophisticated/cool to the outfit.

Also, consider the jeans you're wearing. don't wear ratty ass old kick-arounds w/ a dress shirt. I'd suggest staying away from really baggy jeans as well, not saying go out and buy chick jeans or nut-huggers...but a slimmer jean shows a sense-of-style.

Actually I am 25 and been out of college for about 3 years, i do need to get some new jeans though because most my current pairs are not real nice. Unfortunately I believe I will need to get them tailored as well because they never make short enough ones for me.

Mots my work button downs have no designs on them, so they would probably be out. Do you usually keep yours untucked? I also have issues with untucking real nice dress shirts cause they look real long on me, again because I am short. I'll take a look at the link

You can get by tucking your shirts in right now. Especially if you dress yourself up with a few pieces of jewelry, or mewelry (man-jewelry). A bracelet, necklace, and a few rings. Don't forget to get a cool belt, if you're wearing even one lame piece of clothing you'll look stupid and awkward.

My suggestion regarding the jeans would be to buy a pair of expensive ones. Even if they're the only pair you ever wear out it will be worth it. Girls notice everything: hair, eyebrows, teeth, skin tone, shoes, jeans, finger nails. I almost *never* get a comment on my shirts or sports jacket. But I will get comments on my jeans. Jeans are very important right now, don't try to buck the trend. You should also focus heavily on shoes, mewelry, and glasses. So don't skimp on those items, a hot shirt isn't as important as you think but cool shoes and accessories will attract a woman's attention.

By the way, just because you don't have to wear glasses doesn't mean you shouldn't. I have to wear them, but you can buy glasses that are meant to be an accessory. Find some, buy them, wear them on occasion. I get A LOT of comments on the glasses, A LOT. And they're a great prop, take them off and put them on your target then tell her she looks like a dork or nerd or something like that.

Thanks bull. I've also heard darker jeans are better to wear out. What do you guys think?

Depends on the outfit, but 9 times out of 10...a darker jean looks better.

What I'm wearing right now

I'm wearing these tonight.

The ONLY expensive jeans I own, but as said above, they are worth it. Honestly though, they are so much like my slim boot AE jeans that I probably won't do it again : )

Glasses ARE a great accessory, I totally agree. They must be stylish. I normally wear glasses...but not all the time when I go out.

My work shirts and peacocking shirts are quite different. No, not all my peacocking shirts have graphics or whatever, but they are different cuts, sizes, etc. I typically dont tuck unless I'm wearing nicer pants (black slacks...NEVER khaki.) Most of my non-work shirts go down to about my belt, so when I get animated with my arms and such, the sexy belt shows!

Cool, examples always help. I need to get out and go on a shopping spree and up my wardrobe. Jeans can be tailored too right? I've never really tried to get them tailored I just cut em a bit if to long. Good luck to everyone tonight! I am going to attempt to use what little knowledge I do have tonight at the bar I'll be at. Hopefully I can get over the AA 8)
