How to Deal with a Girl that is Unconsciously Condescending

I have a HB that I'm pursuing that gives me IOI's all the time but calls me "honey" and "sweetie". It may seem nice but she does it to a lot of guys, all who agree she does it in a condescending way. I don't think she conscious of what she's doing, but is there any way you would deal with a girl that does this in a totally non-aggressive way?

I would suggest giving her a pet name and field testing it. I havent ever actually been put in a situation like that though.

get her to call you something else...

Her: ok sweetie

You: Hey you are creative. Everyone calls each other sweetie and honey. We aren't like that we are sexy together, we are passionate. From now on I want you to call me something with a little more edge to it. Show me that creativity of yours and give me a more appropriate nickname.

If something like that doesn't work then have the balls to be honest with her man. You have to be a man and stand up for want you want.

I would tease her about it.

Her: How have you been, honey?
Me: I'm doing great, snookie wookums.
Her: Why are you being like that, sweetie?
Me: I have no idea what you're talking about, poopie cooze.

I think this is the way to go. It does a lot of things:

-It challenges her to be more than she normally is with other guys, by doing so it will set you apart from all of the other honey's and sweety's in her life. You're different and you're better in her mind, and yours.
-It's a shit test. If she doesn't comply, you know you should walk. Further, if she's interested in you she'll comply and then she's yours.
-It shows her through your actions that you're a confident person that's not willing to allow others to call you stupid names that require no creativity, thought, or context. Again, challenging her will raise your value because you're better than this.

Have you ever considered that it is possibly just the cadance of her voice. I know a girl from my college who hails from the south, and those sweet nothings are exactly what they appear to be. sweet "nothings". I wouldn't look into it as condescending. Rather, a way in which she communicates. Like a girl from California will say "like" and "hyphy" and a texas girl will probably call you "sugar". It's not condescending, its just dialect.

personally its a turn-off when a girl in my age range does that. It reminds me of a middle-aged diner waitress who did nothing with her life but marry a tractor repair man named Earl who also calls his mullet Tommy. I really like the advice on telling her to be more creative.

What does a someone in upstate New York know about being called "sweetie" and "honey" and "sugar"? Somebody get a rope! On a serious note, however, as a native Texan, I do think you're right in this situation. It's just dialect. I dated a chick who used that kind of language with all her friends and even some strangers and thought nothing of it. I demanded to be called something else because I was special.

Just don't tell me that yankees in upstate New York know how to make good BBQ ribs, chili, Mexican food, or salsa. :P [/b]

Simply tell her that you have been having fantasies of her... See what happens... A PUG would say you have no use for a girl "friend" that's what your boys are for!
