4 fucking years!!!

Postby Guest » Sat May 28, 2011 10:43 am

It's taken me 4 fucking years to put into words EXACTLY what I have been thinking about... god damn that's a long time. I have been looking for a concise way to put this for 4 years... I've probably even read it before, but it just didn't sink in.

The problem with women, and most of society for that matter now, is they do not communicate with a method that cares about what the truth of the matter is. That is, they do not hold a dialogue with others that wishes to establish the truth with reasoned arguments.

I know, most are saying, "So what Finesse, we already know this." Ah HA!

But 1) fuck you.

and most importantly 2) Can you sum up exactly why that is in one sentence? Can you wrap all the nitty gritty details up in a pretty little bow?

Presuming the person you are speaking with is even aware there are different versions of communication, then yes.

Here it is:

Most men are predisposed to communicate with dialectics, while women, and now society at large, is predisposed to communicate with the pathos part of rhetoric.

MWHAHAHAH!H!H!H I can finally stop thinking about this fucking problem!!!!

Men communicate in the moment with logical intent, while women communicate in the moment with emotional intent?

I say this because Dialectical Theory basically identifies 3 dialects that are commonly used in relationships. (balance, integration, and recalibration.) All three are logical approaches to problem solving.

I think we already know this.....So what Finesse? :D

I took a class on rhetoric in college. I went from a B to failing it because the prof lost my final exam while she was on vacation, and so I took the issue to the dean and got her fired. True story. But even still, they wouldn't change my grade back to a "B" or grade my exam. They just gave me a "no grade..." assholes.

Anyway, I think acting out of logic vs emotion is a choice, not inherent to one gender or another. I think it's influenced by culture, but I would say we're right in the middle as Americans.

For example, the classical Greek heroes and Gods acted out of emotion, not logic. Read Homer for instance.

On the other hand, women in Victorian England were certainly creatures of logic.

Modern Italians are full of fire and life, while Japanese and English are brainy.

Americans fall right smack dab in the middle. When I lived in South America, people said Americans were cold and stuffy. When I lived in Sweden, people said Americans were reckless and emotional. So we are right in the middle.

I will tell you this too... some people CRAVE to be "right," but being "right" is meaningless. What's the point? What prize do you win?

The only way you can ever love or be loved is with your heart.

Men might tend to argue with our brains, but all human beings make all of their decisions with their hearts, not their heads.

Then we deserve the clusterfuck we get when people do that.

yeah but nearly EVERYBODY does it. some people are just better at backward rationalizing their own bullshit to themselves.

one thing that amazes me about people is our ability to completely bullshit ourselves and never know the better for it.

that's a vice, not a virtue by any means.

I tend to agree that people make decisions with their heart and their emotions more so than with their rational brain.

This weekend, for example, I was in a situation where I was saying to myself that what I'm doing isn't even close to the right thing but I didn't necessarily stop what I was doing.

Sometimes, we get carried away, I know I do. Most of the time, we rationalize our emotionally based decisions so that they appear to be logical in nature but, in reality, that's just our way of justifying our stupid, emotionally charged mistakes.

If humans didn't make decisions with their emotions more often than not then would there be any reason at all for the concept of a law? Stealing is bad, everyone knows this. But, when it comes down to it, some people can rationalize their actions so that their emotional decision to steal becomes logical in nature. If everyone acted on their logic, then no one would ever do anything 'wrong.' Laws exist to punish illogical, emotionally based decisions.

I believe that's what liberals call "taxation," Bull Run.

Lol
