I’m sure by now everyone knows about Mystery’s reality show on VH1, “The Pickup Artist.” If you don’t, it starts August 6. Do you know what this means?

It means that you won’t have the luxury of those tried and true routines anymore. Say goodbye to “Jealous Girlfriend.” Bid a fond farewell to the “Evolution Phase Shift.” And no more opening HB10s with “did you know Elvis dyed his hair?” We’ve used them, we’ve loved them, but it’s time to throw them out with that 80s haircut. It’s time to start coming up with your own material!

All that stuff is over five years old now and if you‘ve been in the Game for more than a year and you‘re still using those bits consistently, SHAME ON YOU! By now you should understand the how and why of the way they work.

The pickup community started with a few guys that got together in news groups to share what worked. They did all the ground work and research for us. We own them more respect than just ripping off their routines. So, put down that play station control, get in the field and start testing openers, DHVs, Comfort Builders, # closes, K closes, Peacocking ideas and post your results here so we can all benefit.

What if every guy out there becomes a PUA? Can you imagine the competition walking into a club? Will this mean that people will be having sex all the time? Maybe this will be a new baby boom. They'll call it "The Mystery Generation".

Lol, 99.9% of the guys who see that show are going to walk into a bar, try some of Mystery's stuff on one set, fuck it up, and decide that it doesn't really work.

Lovedrop wrote that the show tested better with women than it did men. Guys that try that anything they see on the show are going to be tooled faster than a tweeker in a chager.

Yea... I'm not worried about the guys watching this show and going out and kicking my ass. I work at this shit the same way I practice music. Anyone who thinks a 30 minute reality show will make them into a PUA is in for a rude blowout.

As for the chicks who watch the show, I'm not worried either. Yea, we'll have to ensure we have original material, but IMO we should already HAVE original material. The fact remains that the technology will still work, because women are hardwired this way... the routines may change, but the technology remains.

Guys, I wouldn't worry about this for two reasons. First, I had a buddy pick-up a girl at a coffee shop who was reading, guess what? "The Game" and she still fell for the lines. If you think girls spend a lot of logical thinking about whether guys are picking them up rather than emotional "I want to have a girl's night out with my friends and not talk to guys" feeling, then think again.

Secondly, remember that the approach is less than 10% of the entire intreraction whether you're running direct, indirect, or natural. You still need to hook (both rapport and sexual),kino, vide, build rapport, bounce, use multiple threads, isolate, work out the logistics, overcome LMR (which is used to build sexual tension for foreplay), etc., etc., etc.

I personally use all three forms of approach given 1) the situation and 2) my belief in the outcome. Get these down and the rest flows much easier.

Also, remember you get what you focus on. If you focus on opening, then that's what you get. Instead have the end goal in mind before you even begin and you will be ahead of the ball game.

I know ya'll don't have problems with approaching but strecth out you goals and see past the opener if that is what you are currently focused on.

BTW, great post. I saw Mystery when he was here filming in Austin and he asked me to keep all the Austin guys away because we kept running all the same lines and gaming girls.

It should be a good program from what I can tell.

P.S. And if you see me, it wasn't me it was my twin brother : )
