Restaurants for Day Two's
Since as I do not sarge as often as I use to, I find myself going to dinner quite a bit, and my list of restaurants I’d like to try has dwindled. I hate using the internet because a few of their “top restaurants” were mediocre at best.

What I would like to do is compile a list of restaurants in the DFW metroplex that would be a great place to have dinner with the boys or a take a girl on a day two.

Preferably, places that are unique and fun, something a girl would enjoy (maybe they have amazing margaritas or soemthing). If you don’t know of any “hole-in-the wall” joints, mainstream works too. Either way, I want to know what restaurants you frequent and why.

1. I understand that several of you do not take girls to dinner as a day two event. I don’t want this to be a discussion on why one should or should not take a girl to dinner; that’s a different thread.

2. I want first hand experiences; you must have personally been to the restaurant before.

3. Try to follow my format; so we can get a good idea of what the restaurant is like.

I’ll start with my list and this is in no particular order, just comes to me.

Name: Wai Wai Kitchen
Food Type: Asian (mostly Thai)
Cost: $10-15 per person ($12 for entrée, appetizer and a drink for what I get)
Location: Lemmon Ave near uptown (they also have one off Mockingbird near SMU)
Description: Very good, fast and casual. Definitely not a place you would take a girl on a “date” but an awesome place to take a girl to enjoy good food in a low pressure environment. I usually get the Drunken noodles with chicken (spicy level as medium).

Name: Café Express
Food Type: American
Cost: About $15 for entrée, soup and drink
Location: McKinney Ave (they have various locations throughout the metroplex)
Description: Fast, casual and tasty! An added benefit is that it is rather healthy. This would be a great place to take a girl on a lunch date. Sit outside on the patio and enjoy the beautiful weather (like right now. If it’s the summer, maybe not...). I usually get the Spanish Chicken Romesco. Their sweet tea is pretty damn good as well.

Name: Mia’s Mexican Food
Food Type: Tex-Mex
Cost: $10-15 per entrée, not including drinks
Location: Lemmon Ave
Description: Amazing tex-mex food! Prices are fair but not a huge fan of the environment or layout. Soft drinks can be expensive as they sell it by the can and offer no free refills (unless it’s tea). I usually get the carne asda and its really tender and flavorful (except this last time I went).

Location: Arlington (360 and Pioneer I think)
Description: One of the more authentic Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been too. Great food with pretty good sized portions. The inside is beautiful and looks like an upscale restaurant, but is really casual.

Name: Pho Pasteur II
Food Type: Pho (Vietnamese)
Cost: Less than $10 per entree
Location: Carrollton (Josey lane and Belt Line)
Description: One of the better pho restaurants I’ve been to. Cheap and pretty good, especially after a heavy night of drinking.

Name: Los Lupe’s

Location: Downtown Ft. Worth

Description: Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and the family style sides are great as well. It has a nice comfortable feel and only 6 items on the menu.

I didn’t go too mainstream because I assume most of us already know what Saltgrass, Bj’s, Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, etc. has to offer and taste like.

That’s all I can think of right now, will add more later as I think of them.
