Eight More Tips for Personal Hygiene
This is part two of our personal hygiene series, and contains 8 tips for improving personal hygiene. These tips apply to both guys and girls, though a lot of guys may want to read them more closely. Go forth, and be well groomed!
[B]1. Clip your finger and toe nails.[/B]
Avoid looking like a prison escapee, or psychopath, by keeping a trim on you nails. Aim for a trim every week or two, depending on the growth rate. Do own an Emory board and clippers to do it yourself. The splurge on a manicure and pedicure is something the ladies love to do. Many guys don’t, but should consider it on occasion. Guys, if you do, probably keep it private.
[B]2. Use Sunblock.[/B]
This is a huge no-brainer as well. If you live in a tropical climate, which gets sun year round, or love to work on your tan when summer comes, sunscreen is a must. This keeps you from looking like a lobster if you get to much sun, and can help to prevent skin cancer.
[B]3. Use lotion. [/B]
Moisturizing helps prevent dry skin, and keeps skin soft and pliant. Mainly use this on hands, elbows, knees and feet. These areas are especially prone to abuse, drying, and rough skin. Girls, this helps prevent a case of man hands. A girl with rough hands, is killing her sexy mojo. Guys too. Girls don’t want to be touched buy a guy with sandpaper mitts. Get over the stigma, and just do it.
[B]4. Get adequate rest. [/B]
Getting enough rest affects many areas of health, including skin. Having puffy bags under your eyes, because you thought you could go on a bender, and still make the 9am meeting, just doesn’t work. Sleep is your body’s recovery time. A wise man once said ”if you burn the candle at both ends, you’re not as bright as you think you are.”
[B]5. Drink plenty of water.[/B]
Much of the human body is water, thus making water intake crucial. Lack of proper water intake can affect your physical strength, skin, and waste elimination. This is doubly true if you like to hit happy hour a few times a week. The dehydration from drinking can carry on for days if you don’t catch up. Sports drinks are a great way to hydrate, if normal water gets boring.
[B]6. Exfoliate periodically.[/B]
Sloughing off dead skin cells is a great way to make your skin appear fresher, clean, and blemish free.
Our bodies do this naturally, and can use a bit of help from time to time. Girls often do this, but many guys don’t. If theres a stigma about a guy getting a mani or pedi, it’s doubly true for a facial. For normal use, try using a shower brush, or natural sponge that has a rough texture to it. Also, puck up a product that specializes in exfoliation. For facials, try one once every couple of months, to keep your skin looking great.

Many cheap and mass marketed soaps, and scrubs can work great for your body at large, and take a toll on your visage. This can lead to overdrying of the face. We’d suggest using one wash for your body, and a specific face designed scrub or wash. The best face washes will also help with exfoliation, or moisture.
[B]8. Go to the dermatologist if you have acne or blemishes.[/B]
There are a ton of OTC products for acne or blemishes. If you find these aren’t doing the trick, don’t hesitate to visit the dermatologist. They can provide scripts for powerful products, albeit expensive, that will clear up one of your greatest assets in no time,. Than cal also help prevent, or curb things such as excema, psoriasis, and more.
