As a former heavy drug user (I never spiked but other than that), I have noticed a very anti-drug attitude in pick up but it's very 2 faced. I look at it this way and I look at it with all drugs including alcohol and tobacco, drugs for fun=OK drugs as a crutch= Bad.
We, as a society have a crazy attitude about drugs. Why is it OK to pop zoloft to bring your mood up so you can go out, but doing a few lines of coke is bad? Both are drugs, both enhance mood and counter the effects of depression, both are addictive but one is prescription medication and therefore ok while the other has been criminalized. I know of guys on this board that get stoned before they hit the clubs. I know LOTS of guys on this board that drink heavily while sarging. From a biological standpoint there isn't much of a difference. I think in both instances they are a crutch. "Doing coke is bad", why? "Doing meth and heroin is bad!" why? I mean, aside from the medical reasons, Meth is some nasty shit, but tobacco is more addictive than heroin and possibly more dangerous. We drink alcohol and that is some deadly addictive shit.
I say if you want a rail of nose candy before hitting the club or you find yourself in a stall in the girls bathroom being offered a bump, what's the problem. If you can handle the criminality of the act, you're a grown up. Drugs aren't bad. Our abuse of them is. If you can't sarge without alcohol, quit drinking you wino. If you feel the need to powder your nose every 20 minutes, lay off the Bolivian marching dust. If a little bit of the herb is what you need to get you in the mood, put down the doobie.
It's also my opinion that putting away the prescription mood enhancers is a good idea. If you are depressed they can help. I needed medication to get out of my pit and up to normal. Once I got out of the pit, they were a crutch. I needed to get a life, Be social, have friends. I needed to get healthy. I found a healthy pass time. I ride my bicycle. I do 15 to 25 miles 3 times a week. It has done more for my mood than a rail of coke ever did.
I go out and drink beer and smoke cigarettes but I don't need the beer and tobacco. I'm not the alcoholic coke head I used to be. Will I do a rail if offered? maybe, maybe not but it's not because the law stops me. I have no use for it and the piece of tail I'm in the bathroom stall with needs to respect that. Of course it's easier to quit coke all together, they don't have rails on the bars like they did back in the 80's and 90's.
