inner game help

Postby Guest » Mon Mar 23, 2009 11:41 pm

I've been mostly lurking around here and waiting til I actually got to fort hood to really start getting into this community. I finally got here about a week ago and found out i'll be deploying very soon.

so I was thinking this would be a prime time to really work on my inner game since any real sarging will basically be nonexistent. the only problem is that i'm not sure the best way to seriously beef up my inner game. so could you guys give me some ideas and tips on the best to do it? i'll be gone for about a year.

thanks in advance.

My take on inner game assistance is that your helper has to know you. How the heck can I tell what your inner game problem might be if this is like your 1st real post? You're gonna have to sit down and figure why you don't value yourself...by yourself. Write it down...and figure out what you can do to improve on those things. Bout all you're really gonna get.

Smirks has some good advice, I would follow it.

I slightly disagree with Smirks with respect to being able to be a real, strong help in improving your Inner Game. Even if we did know you, no one can really help you. We don't know who you want to become. We don't know what you want to change.

The great thing about improving Inner Game is that it's all up to you to change. If you ask yourself the tough questions and then do the work required to change you can do anything you wish. Every passing moment is an opportunity to turn it all around.

we all just going to be stabbing at the dark on this question, but I'll try.

Inner game=your perspectives and beliefs.

Some of these perspectives and beliefs may be holding you back. Find out which ones these are and give yourself new ways to see the world that will have more benefit to yourself.

Find out what your principles are and follow them. Do you believe someone should always be honest? Then you should focus on always being honest. Do you respect people that love everyone? Then start to love everyone yourself.

A last point. The seduction gurus material is decent, but I've found to truly get down to the core of things I must go to the places that inspired seduction gurus, works that have stood the test of time. For me it has been the transcendentalists, jesus, ghandi, martin luther king, and a study of relationship and my own psychology. Even reading all this will not change you. It can cause you to be inspired, but the change must come from within yourself. All your life you have let others tell you who you should be, but today you start defining who you want to be and becoming it.

I wouldn't say someone who doesn't know you well can't help... someone (who posted above me) was able to identify a big part of my inner game issues from being with me in one good set -- and I have no idea how he did based on what happened, but I doubt my best friend who knows me better than anyone in the world would have been able to tell me as well as he could. Then again this person (who knows who he is) I think is a pretty bad ass person when it comes to reading people and body language in sets -- which is one of the reasons he is good at what he does :)

What I mean is that this guy has posted like 4 times, all about his car. Unless his inner game issue resides under a fucking hood, we can't really help him. Seeing you in set will allow for someone to see:

Confidence
Subconscious habits
Hygiene
etc, etc.

Go look at the OP's post history, and feel free to tell him how to fix his inner game.

I see what you're saying, but at the same time...it isn't always easy to identify on your own. Being in the presence of someone who excels at reading people, pays attention to subtleties, and knows (at least) the basics of human interaction can give insight to jump start the process. I agree that it does come down to soul searching and self-awareness. Also, I get the feeling the OP is looking for a "quick fix"...seeing that he stated a time limit (before he's deployed or something.) If you're being deployed, you'll have plenty of time to think to yourself. Take a journal and write it all down...then go through the process of making it better.

smirks I think you misunderstood me. I understand there is no quick fix to this one. i'm not looking to fix it in a day. I just figured that since i'd be gone for about a year, i'd work on what my biggest issue is while I am there.

thanks for all the advice guys. i'm going to use as much of it as I can in the next year.

What's up brother? Inner game is my forte. My advise to you would be to find out what YOU want. Not what your parents want, not what you should want but what you really want...

How do you want to be as a man? How do you want to feel? What do YOU stand for?

Have a crystal clear idea of what your values are as a man.

That'll get you started.
