Grimm, I've seen you do this and it's true to an extent. But, you've never once attempted this with me or some of the other guys in the Community that you respect. I suspect that you've never done it with women you respect either. Keep that in mind. When you don't respect someone, and you know it, try not to hang around them.

there's a lot of douche-bag posers in the world, we need to thin the herd. I don't really understand your post. Its important to strive to be the best and succeed, and my life is about giving something to society. I have no problem crushing those who need to be crushed, but I've learned to let them hang themselves.

What are you doing that's so bad? If you have a regret, then you must make it right, or you'll suffer forever.

Iso, you're right my friend. Sometimes, you run into people that simply need to be torn down.

Grimm,

I trust your judgement in this matter. You, whether you believe it or not, are a good judge of character. I wish I would have seen the same things in my Austin 'friends' that you did. You, my friend, are right more often than not.

It's no secret that the point of this post was that I was a real asshole to your friends BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T TAKE ME TO TACO CABANA and I felt guilty and embarrased about that. The fact that they ended up being douschebags is a bit vindicating, but it still was not right of me to insult your guests in your home.

Anyway, I think there are deeper issues here that I need to deal with on my own...things that are beyond the scope of what we do here on this board.

For one thing, alcohol is affecting me in ways that it never used to. I feel like I am starting to get addicted - to a point where I can't go out to a bar and feel normal without having a drink or two. I will actually crave liquor.

Also, I am at a point where I feel depressed after a day of drinking and toward the end of the night, I mean seriously depressed. And this is with absolutely NOTHING to feel depressed about...I just have the physical feelings because the drinking is doing something to me physically and my brain chemistry that I don't understand.

It's to a point where I fear drinking too much because I know I'm going to be almost to tears the next day, for no reason at all.

I've been inventing reasons to justify why I feel like shit when in fact, it's nothing more than that the liquor just doesn't agree with me anymore and I have a family history of alcoholism and depression and need to be more careful.

My bar days are numbered man. After New Years I am giving up the bottle for real.

Things change man. This has been one of the funnest periods of my life. But at this point, it's 10x more destructive than it is fun.

Sad to hear Peter... it's definitely your brain chemistry from the drinking affecting your moods. As for the craving that is part chemistry, part conditioning ;) Sounds like you got a good perspective on it though.

Thanks man. Maybe I could switch to something that I can handle a bit better, maybe that would work. Weed maybe?
