Overcoming funky moods

I'm normally a really upbeat person... like everyone we all have our worse days though... yesterday started thinking about an ex (my kryptonite ex) during my lunch break and it just took me down, down, down... still haven't recovered back to my usual state. Met up with Vector for a bit last night not sure if you could tell -- I was feeling a bit better when I got there but by the time I was leaving there I was already back down.
What do you do when a mood like this hits? Any tips on getting out of them? Do you just not go out those days or do you do things specifically to get yourself out of the funk? There's a pretty good chance my friday routine (hitting Jaguars, drinking, and playing with strippers) will bring me back out (it has before), but that's not really a realistic solution for whenever a bad mood strikes ;) Usually for me I gotta find something to break me out of that state of mind and into positive and once I do I'm back... just going out and socializing doesn't always do it though.

Music. The gym. Booze. Friends. Jerking off. Anything to release endorphins.

Socializing with friends usually brings me back up fairly quickly.
Sometimes when thats not really an option, I'll just go take a drive and blast some good music as loud as I can stand in my car. Loud music keeps me focused on it...and keeps me from thinking about other things.
I do this when I'm overthinking a problem at work/school or just stressed the fuck out and it seems to work fairly well.
Also: go work out.
As BR said, anything that releases endorphins will help. NOTHING does this more than a good workout.
I'm a runner, have been for a long time, so I'll just go run until I can't anymore...but hitting the machines at the gym will do the trick too.
Also, when I do consistently workout, I find that I don't have these slumps in attitude as often.
It's like magic.

I used to get on my motorcycle and just ride. Its the only thing I've ever done that its just me, the bike, and the road.....its like something fuckin' spiritual occurs and you don't think of anything else. I loved getting out on the freeways in the early morning when nobody was out and hauling ass. It was a total escape. There's a reason most motorcycles aren't built for passengers.
Good music and naked women is another past time of mine, sometimes I just like to go to the tit bar and chill.

Gym is the best. Work out hard and you get those endorphins. Natural heroin always makes me feel better for sure. I always run my ass off when I'm upset and end up in some far away place I've never been before. One day I ended up in some asian market and talked to some wise old jackie chan like guy for like 3 hours. Do something that challenges yourself.
Another thing I like to do when I feel like shit is to help out others somehow. Go do some volunteer work, its hard not to feel amazing doing that.

Could actually be related... I haven't been able to work out since monday due to being sick... getting back to it tomorrow will let ya know if it helps... i still haven't snapped out of it -- even getting drunk and going to a full nude bar didn't help :(

I think of all of the bad things about my ex
like everything that is wrong with her that dont apply to other girls
ie. cottage cheese on her upper thigh, she was a huge bitch, I treated her like a queen only to be used
If that does not help, I play video games, but that could just be because I am young
If that does not help, I talk to other girls
Girls that are my friend and I have no sexual interest in
If that does not help I tell them my problem and tell them to help me forget about it
If that does not help, I wait it out
And wait
And wait
And wait
And eventually the pain/funky mood subsides
When in this mood I would not suggest masterbation because I personally just end up thinking about screwing her and that leads to more sadness after....
Hope this helps
:]
