The community
I wanted to talk about something that has been bugging me for a while about the community. For all its pros it misses on a lot of other parts of life and brings negative.
The understanding of society isn't something that the community has been keen on teaching, and never has, but a lot of people feel that there is just something, they have trouble pin-pointing it, but there is just something that is a little off about this whole thing.
It's the box.
Society forces people to live inside a box. We all know this. The box of what is politically correct or wrong. The law if you will. It's the same thing that makes cursing a funny thing to me. In the 50's "golly gosh gee wilikers" was bad, heaven forbid if you said fuck. Now a days fuck isn't such a bad word. As times progress so do peoples understandings and feelings change based on what the "norm" of society is doing. Very soon I feel they will lower the drinking age to 18... again. Why? because most of the kids do it anyway.
The community is very much outside the box when it comes to community. In society women are supposed to hold the power, and in most cases, do. Who's to say what it's supposed to be like or not. Let's instead focus on what that means to us. In anything we do in life, it always measures up to what people typically think is right and/or wrong. People are constantly measuring what they do up against what other people say is right or wrong, like right now my daughter is knocking on my door and saying "Knock knock daddy" over and over, yet I refuse to let her in. Does that make me any different of a person? Did you view me negatively just then? I'm sure it at least made you think.
Never mind the fact that she was with her grandparents and was told be my father to come do that. Am I still any worse off?
We all came to the community to get something. Most didn't know what it was when they got here, but some did. For those that don't know what it is they are searching for, you are searching for a clearer definition of what the "box" of society is. You are searching for a reason for why, what you consider failures, are happening or you are seeking self improvement. The box is the game. The box is what is social acceptable to do with members of the opposite sex.
But, like all things the box encompasses, the most groundbreaking ideas are the ones that start outside the box and create a new way. Until you get enough momentum though, being outside the box is hazardous to your wellbeing.
It's like musical chairs, where the last person to get back into the box loses. Sometimes, you only need 2 people to play the game. Divorces, Child custody cases, any fighting between 2 individuals. There's a reason people do not typically throw the first punch, there is a reason why it's automatically the persons fault who rear-ended you, until they prove otherwise, regardless of whether you slammed on the breaks, sure these can be fought, be you're starting an uphill fight from the get go.
Most of us hear have started this path, because we don't understand the box. Double entendres excluded, it's boils down to not understanding the box.
