Lookin for a wing/wings

Postby Guest » Mon Sep 01, 2008 8:48 pm

I think it's about time for me to get a wing or 2 who would sarge together with me regularly.
Good thing about having a wing who would sarge with you regularly is that both of you understand each other better.
You spend more time with a person, and you can sort of read that person without verbal communication.
Socrates and I had this. He and I would know when to come in and when to exit for each other. Socrates is crazy approach machine.
I prefer my wing to be a little obnoxious and an approach machine even tho other skills may lack. If you lack something, I will substitute that area and vice versa. I have to admit that I don't even approach nearly as much as Socrates. Socrates is in Austin, so I need a wing who sort of fits in this category. I apologize if I sound like I'm comparing Socrates to anyone who is interested in being my wing/wings. I just wanted to describe what I look for in wings. You don't have to be super experienced or anything. It's a learning course and journey. I don't expect people to be perfect. I am a newbie myself. :) However, I don't prefer wings who just stand and do nothing whole night...

I think it's a win-win situation. You can learn lots from each other. I need an opening machine who would push me to become better PUA. I will work hard to do the same. :)

I can help push you and I don't even need to wing you.

You don't need a wing, you need to go open a shitpile of sets.

The only thing that is good about a wing is that it is easier to occupy obstacles, and work logistics.

Unless you are wanting to improve those 2 areas of your game specifically, you need to focus on yourself and NOT getting a wing.

Be real with yourself and learn to recognize the areas of your game that you truly are seeking to improve, and it sounds to me that you are trying to improve your opening.

I agree with Finesse.

Unless you're really, really good friends with your wing I don't think they're going to be able to help you in any way.

I've always done better by myself than I ever have with a wing, like substantially better.

Wings are good at occupying obstacles, but if you're good enough that shouldn't matter much. You should be able to isolate the target after winning the group's acceptance or should be able to hold the attention of the group by yourself.

Finesse is right. The best way to get really good is to open a shit ton of sets and get comfortable with being yourself.
