This recent article by BradP made a pretty big impact on me. Ignore the marketing shit, but some of the article was pretty eye-opening. Especially the parts about information overload and, as i've heard it called before, analysis paralysis.

It's a long read (ironically) but worth it for newer guys. I certainly got a lot of value out of it.

lol i think we actually talked about this with socrates. Socrates and I only read like 1 or 2 books. Only book I read was "the game" I think Socrates might have read lil more than that, but we don't read coz we're lazy lol.

Nah, but I think reading few won't hurt. I sure would like to read few new materials... I recently got a new job as a waiter temporarily, but i need to know all the ingredients for everything... fuckin ridiculous. I passed first test, but I failed 2nd test. There are like 6 tests total... seriously wtf. If I fail again tomorrow, they won't hire me. :/

Dear KJ,

It’s time I give you some tough love. You came into this as a nerd who couldn’t get women. Now you’re a nerd who still can’t get women, but you’re really well educated about social dynamics. Well-educated nerd. Not quite what you had in mind. If that’s the path you’re on, I hope this report scares the living shit out of you. Stop for a minute and think about all your friends. That was one of the paragraphs I was laughing at when I was reading it on acuity's iphone at sunday brunch in austin :) there were several laugh out loud parts in there
