However I have a lot of friends who go to UT and I can call them up to stay there.

I also wouldn't mind renting a room with you guys. But like PC said I'm sure it won't fill up for some reason at the last instant when we go, so we can figure it out.

I am trying to talk another guy into going who hangs out with us on occasion but hasn't posted in ages. That would make 8 people enough to fill two rooms.

If you don't want to spend that much on a room I know I saw some for about half that price about 5 miles away. Once you figure in cab rides to and from downtown and the fact that this hotel gives free breakfast it just didn't make sense to chinch on the hotel and save what...10 bucks a person or something.
