I just joined this forum and have recently become interested in the PUA community. I am a UNT student living in Denton, TX.
...
So my question is, how do you deal with this whole "type" thing. Have any of you run into girls who are hardcore into this type of guy?
I use to sarge in the bars in Denton before I knew it was called sarging back when I went to school there. It sounds like you like those types of artsy girls if you are more focused on attracting them. There are several types of women in Denton, including athletes and middle of the road people as well.

Side note: Day game is good at the beginning of any semester on college campuses especially with freshman commuters or transfer students who don't know anyone.

Another side note: For anyone who hasn't been in college yet, take the "orientation week" during the summer seriously for social reasons. Meet as many HBs as you can and get lots of numbers. They are more willing and open during that time, especially if they have moved from far away.
Also, take living in the dorms seriously for getting laid. It will never be that easy again.

Back to your Question:

I used to love Lucky Lou's and I gave up the hipster/grunge/alt look after high school. I remember one particular winter night a few years when I went to Lou's at about 12:30. I was wearing a sweater, and khakis, nothing too "artsy." I will never forget this. I approached a two set and did some DD stuff and within 15 minutes she was ready to follow me home. Thinking back, she was wearing a conventional outfit, and was super hot, but had a liberal attitude (come to find out it was out of rebellion for her parents being overly religious).

I think my point is: talk to girls not wearing whatever the trendy rock look, but the more regular HBs in Lous. They are there because they want to seem cool and open minded, but aren't dressed like hipsters. On the inside they want to bang like uninhibited hippies too.

Also, if you powerlift, why not try some pick ups at the rec. center, or other more mainstream bars like R-Bar etc.

This is all true. I love college life, and I broke my record for numbers when I was at orientation week. 37. Not that all of them were attractive, but they just kept passing around my phone like an std or something. It was like a T-Y plague! Not that I didn't enjoy it...
All the other guys were scared of the girls. It felt like segragation, so naturally I went to the side that would get me laid more. I think I made a very good choice. Btw it turned out very useful number closing the entire group like that throughout this semester. All I told them was girl1: hey I find you cool pass this around to anyone you also find cool. Have them put their name, and one unique trait about themselves that I would find interesting and memorable then have them save me as superman(ty) in their phone. At least 4 girls put "hot" as their quality... cocky bastards. I still called them first tho, as I like getting laid from hot women.

Why couldn't I have found this thread BEFORE I was already a sophomore in college??

Maybe I'll just show up and pretend to be a freshman :D
Or go there to "show my support to the new students"
Another factor is that winging with me can put a little social pressure on my wing,
Little?
Seriously?
A little social pressure from hanging around you?
Fucking-A.... I hadn't noticed.
Nope. No, no.... Little social pressure? Are you sure about that?

I don't need a fadora. When WF is around, he is the fucking fadora. People notice. There is no hiding him.
There isn't much you can do to silence him, though I have invested in a role of duct tape for the next time we spend more than a day together...

Little? Dude!

And more often than not one of two things happens, 1) WF opens the set and runs it into the ground while I'm standing there with no idea what to say. 2) I open the set and 5 mins in WF enters and runs the set into the ground.

More often it's 1.
Little pressure? shit.
No... it's no pressure at all.

Life has cetainly become more interesting.

When's the last time you went to Lou's? It's artsy/rocker extreme now. My suggestion to you is to hit the mainstream bars as suggested in the post above. Rbar, Rockin' Rodeo, Tavern (when you're old enough), Garage, etc etc. In these locations you will find girls who aren't swooning over a guy with long black-hair and wearing girls jeans. I go up there like once every 6 months...I'll let you know about my next trip and I can help you out.

Ooooh...my biggest suggestion is to make friends w/ the owners and bartenders at RBar/Rockin' Rodeo. The benefits are well worth it.
we are gay ~1-5 times a night.
Funny how those tough guys are tough enough to talk shit but not confident enough to test the edge.

Ironically the people that founded our country wore wigs, makeup and stockings.
