Hell yeah. Screw em.
You know what else I've been up to lately though, besides becomming and American? Meditating. See, and when you meditate, you learn that your focus and attention is like a diamond bro. It's the most precious thing you have.
So why would you pay enough attention to these people you don't even know to judge them? I mean, all it's gonna accomplish is to put you in a foul mood. That's all I'm saying.
But you do make a good point.

Very true. But, as Finesse put it, their actions are costing me my freedom.
I don't worry about these people, but I do despise them and when confronted with these people I will not grant them the decency that I would grant you guys. At some point, there must be consequences to bad behavior.

I guess everyone is different.
I look at it this way. If you're expending the energy to despise them, then you're focusing on them and you're letting them affect your world. To me, the best way to deal with someone you dislike is to ignore them, and altogether cut them out of your existence - which means all of your thoughts.
Now that goes against our animal urge to go and pound on someone we don't like. But I find that it is the more enlightened path.
I look at it this way. If you're expending the energy to despise them, then you're focusing on them and you're letting them affect your world. To me, the best way to deal with someone you dislike is to ignore them, and altogether cut them out of your existence - which means all of your thoughts.
Now that goes against our animal urge to go and pound on someone we don't like. But I find that it is the more enlightened path.

They claimed they only wanted to practice freedom of religion. I didn't agree with their religion, but didn't say anything because of freedom of religion. They practiced their religion.
They wanted to make animal sacrifices because they said their religion requires it. I don't agree with killing animals, but I believe in freedom of religion. So I said nothing. They now kill animals as a sacrifice.
They said their religion adheres to socialist values. I don't agree with socialist values but they aren't within our current government, plus I believe in freedom of religion, so I didn't say anything because it doesn't affect me. They now practice socialism in their small communities.
They said their religion requires them to make their communities socialist. I don't agree with socialism or their religion, but their communities aren't the ones I live in so I say nothing. Plus I believe in freedom of religion. Their communities grow larger and their domain is bigger. But it doesn't affect me because I live in a different state.
They say that their religion tells you that you own nothing, and that the government owns it all. That law should require people to give all to the government. That the government knows whats in your best interests. I don't agree with that, but I believe in freedom of religion, and since their authority only applies to their communities I ignore them and go on my happy way.
They now have people in political power. They are now saying that we should expand these great systems. Systems that feed the needy, help the sick and old and that keeps kids off the streets and in school. I agree with them. Helping people should be important. However, they think the government should do it, I think I should have control over what charity I give to. But I agree that SOMETHING has to be done, so I pick the lesser of evils and agree to submit to this system because, "it's for a good cause." For a little bit, things get better and people are being, "helped."
The time has come where the above system is no longer useful because for some reason more and more people are going into it. Adding to the costs. However at the same time, less and less people are paying into it. They now say that the people paying in should give more, because, "wee need to help the poor and unfortunate". And really who can argue with that? It's for a good cause right? So I agree. I am now paying in 50% of what I bring home. Even though I am barely making it now. I should rest assured that its for a good reason.
More and more people are needing help. I cannot afford to give more. Even at 50% I have lost money to stay in business over the last 2 years. I am actually about to declare bankruptcy because I can no longer afford to pay my debts. But I still need to live so I have no choice but to ask for help now. I now see the "importance" of funding these special programs.
I have now been on "life support" for 3 years. It's great, my food is taken care of, I have a house, the neighbors arent the best and it's noisy at nite. But at least I don't have to worry about what I eat, or where I sleep. KNow, I can now work a simpler job at Mcdonalds or Whataburger to by the rest of the things I "need" like a TV and clothes, and vacations. Altough usally, I don't work at plasays that give vaycayshion time, so I just quit and find another job when I get back. Man, I wish I was a woman. Then I culd just pop a kid out and get child support to and wouldn't have to work at all unless I wanted to. I here they are even thinking about giving us free cable TV and high speed internet. Boy I hope they give us a computer too. I never think about who is actually footing the bill for my lifestyle. I dont care. I get all the food I want for free. If I'm lucky, I find someone who isn't on food stamps and stuff and they provide me lots of extra money.. well not lots, because some punk bitches named FICA and MEDI keep taking money. Then some group named INCOMET is taking like 25%. I wish they just leave their money alone, so that way we could have more.... I don't worry though, I just vote for the guy who says everything will be ok and then promises us more stuff. I really like this Obama guy...

You can call it enlightenment. I'm going to call it stupidity because if you don't see the chain and ball being slung around your neck then you are just as bad as them. Especially when you have people SHOWING you whats happening. You're not dumb, so please act like you're not.

Should we pass judgement on others? Matthew 7:1 - "Judge not that ye be not judged."
