The Secret Society?

When I read TD's rant on the SS, it reminded me of a section in the book "Girl Culture" by Lauren Greenfield (highly recommended). It was the part about models. They are the most sexually deviant people walking on earth. But if you're not in the club, you'll never know. Who do they do? It makes you wonder because many guys in the fashion industry are gay. But these models, they have orgies, do S&M, and all kinds of crazy shit. But you'd never know by looking at the pictures of them in Bazaar wearing summery outfits and what not.

I have and used to have some friends who are models and yes they are deviant, and here's why. Models are psychologically just like everyone else. They don't see their beauty, only the flaws. They don't understand why people think they are special so they get a disconnect from their bodies. This disconnect is then amplified by the industry that then uses their bodies as a product. The business actually promotes the disconnect because it makes working with them easier. So now that their bodies are a commodity and not them, which is strongly reinforced, they treat their bodies badly. They have a saying, "it's not you, it's your body." Ask a shrink if that is a healthy attitude.

So you wan't a model, treat them like shit because that means you don't want the commodity or ignore the body and engage the emotions.

Yep, they used to say "treat a slut like a lady and a lady like a slut." A modern interpretation might be "treat a 10 like a 6 and a 6 like a 10."

Also, don't forget they are continually reminded of what a short shelf life they have. The lucky ones might have a decade of work... most get nothing even close to that.

Secret Society Jargon

Postby brooklyn » Thu Jul 12, 2007 1:55 am

I think we all need to stop using these phrases, Secret Society sounds kind of creepy to me. We are men who want to all be players and ladies men.. We are all striving to becoming some of the worlds best seducers and have women surrounding us.

Talking about being in a secret society will not help us get there. We all have to try to become more natural and less logistical in the way we talk about the game.

Brooklyn, have you read Tyler Durden’s article about the secret society? Mojo posted a link to in this thread. If you haven’t, you should because it is PRECISELY what we should be discussing.
