If you can afford an xbox/wii, you can afford a guitar. By a used one. I bought my first guitar for $200 and taught myself how to play. you don't need lessons. it led to being in some bands in DFW and was the best experience of my life....and yes girls do love it.

Props for pursuing what you love to do, regardless of income.

Sounds like you like outdoors/nature, you can definitely spin that. Are you into photography? I would love to take a photography expedition to Alaska someday... man there are all kinds of tangents you can describe what you WANT to do with your life, pursuing your passion moving up to alaska, etc..

assuming since you want to be english teacher you are probably well read? do you have some REAL books out at your place casually on display? differentiate yourself from the average 19 year old dude. Sure your average Purgatory barfly might not get it, but screw em.

Go snap some nature pics and turn them black and white and have on display at your place...when girls are there they will ask about them and you are right into DHV stories about camping, moving to alaska, etc..

just some quick random thoughts...

As far as job...not sure what you do at the Hut, but perhaps try to get into some more of a trendy restaurant scene...usually the wait staff are pretty tight and everyone is sleeping with everyone, and would be good social environment..

If you put your life in perspective then you will win.

First:

You are 19. It sucks. Deal with it.

Umm, rockband? What does that mean exactly? I'm going to assume that you can play some kind of musical instrument. So, if you can, then you ride that value for as long as you can. Problem is that you can't bring it up right off the bat...that is, what I refer to as, a Melting Spot (if you get them at your place and whip out this talent, then they are butter in your hands).

Fourth:

Use the power of code language. I tell girls all the time that I study pick-up. Except that I call pick-up social dynamics. I tell them that I read books about social interaction, evolutionary psychology, etc.

Fifth:

Who fucking cares if you want to be a teacher? Speak about what you want to do with passion and you'll be fine. Women respect passion, and when a woman respects you they'll have passion for you.

Sixth:

Don't ever tell a girl that you're an Eagle Scout. Use the skills you learned and if they ask how you know that stuff, then jokingly say that you were an Eagle Scout. She will laugh. But, the joke is on her, not you.

Finally, the reality is that if you don't think you're attractive and desirable, then NO ONE WILL.

Sure, you may not fit into the normal idea of what is valuable or attractive...but, the dirty little secret is this:

Fuck them. Be confident in who you are, don't apologize, don't back down, and you'll be surprised how attractive people find you.

i was at this finance/accounting conference, and i told this girl about my passion for oil. like i won't get bored looking at an oil well all day and stuff, and she found it attractive. i noticed they don't care what you are passionate about, they just like the idea you have passion for something outside of watching tv/eating potatoe chips on the couch.

- Don't ever let the lack of $$ be an excuse. If you want it bad enough, proove it to others with similar interests and they'll help you get there. When I was 16yo I raced radio-control cars with an older guy that also owned a full-size circle track car. I made friends with the guy and helped work on his full-size racecar. There came a time where he realized I was serious about racing and he no longer had time on the weekends to go racing. So he asked me if I wanted to buy the car. I had no money to buy the car, so he told me I could just take the car and give it back to him when I was done with it at the end of the season. 3 years later I was still racing his car and by the 4th year I had finally saved up enough money and bought it from him for next to nothing.

I'll bet you somebody has an old violin or guitar laying around that they'd make you a smoking deal on or even let you have. Check out craigslist for some good deals also.

-The guy who started Pizza Hut had to borrow $600 from his mother to open his first store! He didn't let the lack of funds deter him.

-There are girls out there who think camping is pretty cool! So that might be something you could explore.

-The whole dancing thing with girls is very powerful. Several girls have told me dancing is like foreplay and its super attractive when a guy knows how to dance.
