doing instead of talking = center of attention (who else are they going to be watching?)

talking about things means, talking about thing that have happened in the past that are relavant to the topic already being discussed, or leading the conversation, i.e. frame control exercise, to a topic you want to talk about.

I've made a lot of progress over the past few months, mostly with body Language, and Eye contact both of which are surprising to me how powerful they are.

That's good stuff. I agree.

My problem is when I try to go further than an opener, Transitioning and DHVing.
..I believe it's because I don't have anything interesting going on in my life. I can't talk about the Awesome thing that Me and My friends did, when we didn't do anything awesome.[/quote1221080321]

You may not think that what you do is awesome but awesme is pretty much a feeling on the inside. Any event or situation or topic can be shared. The power is in the sharing part.
The reason comedy improv is funny is that its about the relationship between the characters.

Sharing anything is good.

Finding what they call "hook points" in the conversation helps build rapport.

An example:
I went to San Francisco a few years ago and I got this shirt. I dunno if its made in San Fran but I liked it. And it reminds me of my trip where I met up with a friend of mine and we went and rented some bikes and rode over the golden gate bridge. The girls didn't want to go because they were all scared. But when we got to the other side into Salcilido, it was awesome and we felt like we had accomplished an amazing feat.

Do you like challenges? What's the most challenging thing you've done?

---end story which really happened to me---

Structure: Tell story with lots of hooks - San Fran, shirts, biking, challenges
Ask a big open ended question: Do you like challenges.
make the story seem like they were there with you.

How do I make cool, interesting friends who go out and live interesting lives? I guess I can say this is the main reason why I joined the community in the first place. I want to learn how to be sociable and make strong friendship with high-value people, but I'm always stuck in the box of indifference... it's like a group of co-workers/classmates/whatever are talking about something they're going to do and I'm around so they're like, "oh, hey, Muk, you can come too" I'm never the guy that people want to be around but instead they just don't mind if I am around. The only close friends that I have are boring and I feel like I'm too high of value to be around them yet, I have no friends who match my value so I'm stuck in snore-ville with them.
I want to be the guy That people invite to parties I want people to say "Oh, Fuck yeah! Muk is coming!" istead of "Oh, Muk is coming? Oh, ok...that's cool" I want to be the Shining Man that the guys want to be like and the women look to with stars in their eyes.
I'm Too honest of a person to lie and I have a deep loathing for anything fake or unnatural and because of this, I could never be a "Marlboro Man". I have to be this guy instead of faking it in an attempt to make women sleep with me.
What are some qualities that guys look for in a friend? how do I go about making a friend without looking like some queer? What do high-value guys (or girls too) talk about? I went back to school with "Learning how to socialize" being one of my goals, yet, I've gotten nowhere...

Well you gotta assert yourself. You gotta get everyone's attention.

Learn some cool routines and tell some jokes. Even talking about the social dynamics of....say a party or a bar is interesting to most people.

You have to get beyond the idea that you're faking it. When you share, you aren't faking it. You're making it.

I hope that helps. Gotta go.
