I don't think it really matters what you do. If she is hanging out with you she likes you. At least thats what I learned recently (about venue not mattering)

im still having issues with this and i know its probably the AFC coming out of me, but you must have pretty tight game to take her to mcdonalds and then to walmart as your date. i feel that there is an inbetween. you dont have to take her to dinner at Nick and Sam's but something still "appropriate"

I haven't tried mcdonalds and walmart, probably because I like to think as myself as higher class than that. Here is what I would do (not saying it will work, just what I would do). Tell her you need to run some errands and you want her to tag along. Just happen to drive by mcdonalds and say "hey, I'm hungry, lets get some food!". Then when done there say you need to grocery shop and take her to the redneck mall.
Just don't say date. It should always be prefaced with "lets hang out." Lets hang out, I need help shopping at the mall. Come help me drop off my dry cleaning and do some grocery shopping.
End up driving by the honda dealer? Well, stop in with her and say "hey, look, I was thinking of getting a new car, lets go look at em" after that you are driving by starbucks say "oh look, coffee! I need my daily fix, if I don't get it you don't know what might happen. Lets not take chances!"
I believe the more "venues" you hit in a day the better, this will build the comfort faster and get you towards the end goal.
If a girl wants to hang out, it really shouldn't matter that much where you go. Just make it fun for her with your attitude. I think you remember the thread I posted or commented on a few weeks back. I was making a big deal about day 2s and dates and what the difference is and what to do for em. I learned that it doesn't matter. She is there, hanging out with you one on one for the same reason you are hanging out with her one on one. Do some fun stuff and that's all there is to it. Dinner dates are LAME! Just do everyday activities together. Mall shopping, grocery shopping, some event you wanted to go to, grabbing a drink. Just bring her into your world. As Brad P says, "she's going to ride my fun train" And make sure to physically escalate on the meet up! (this is very important, Kino and escalate!)
That's my thoughts on the issue.
