So i've been to 3 meetups now. I've had a good time on all of them.

I'm curious (since i know i haven't), but are any of the new people pairing up with more experienced guys and actually looking for feedback as they try to run sets? Is that what the new guys are even wanting?

I tend to never see any of the new guys that were at taco cabana after about an hour into the night once we go to a venue...

or am i just imaging that?

My first meetup was more about me getting out of my shell. I am very shy by nature so just walking into the Starbucks was somewhat of a feat for me.

I then wanted to see someone in action. I mean you read about all this PU shit and think man if I could just see someone do that stuff it would really help.

I have a feeling some of the guys who make it out and leave are just shy. They want to learn but they never make a connection with any of the guys who go out. They feel like outsiders and wander off. So maybe that is what you are seeing.

I have never had a newbie ask me to go run a set with them. They might pick my brain a little and I might offer then some advice if I did see them run a set. For the most part I have seen some laid back guys chilling with each other talking PU and occasionally running a set.

I seem to never make it to the 'official' meetups... but the times i've been in general most of the experienced guys go run their sets and us new guys don't want to step on your toes, hold you back or get in your way :)

i know me personally I would definitely like to do more sarging w/ the experienced guys

I've been to one meeting and enjoyed meeting you guys. My goal when I did attend was just to meet you guys and observe the veterans in action. I noticed also that there were several people that hung out and left a while later, most were pretty shy personalities it seemed.

There was definitely kind of a division........the experienced people grouped together, and the less experienced formed their group. It might be beneficial if one experienced guy was grouped with 2or3 lesser experienced people.

I've got a friend I usually sarge with or girls I date so it doesn't leave many Fridays open. But I'd definitely like to get to know you kats better.

I remember a while back at Red River there was a competition even in which some guys (carmel, maestro and sunshyne) came down from wherever to visit. That was fun because there was a "judge" for each group of 3-4 guys, and we all went around doing sets and trying to score points. That was real fun - in an environment like that like it was almost impossible to have approach anxiety.

Maybe we need to redo the bull run, except with experienced and inexperienced wing pairs :)

Listen guys, we don't really need an structure set up for this...

We have PMs and boards and phone numbers and what not.

I know for a fact that if someone wants to wing with me, say a newbie, that I'll be available for them if they make the effort.

I don't think we need to put it on a freaking silver platter for them...come to this and you're guaranteed to have an experienced PUA by your side.

One of the best ways to filter out quality is to make others come to you.

You guys know how to reach Grimm, PC, Topdog, Ratio, Vector, etc. If you need help, drop them a line and guess what? They'll probably help.

Perhaps the point of the thread should be to let the new guys know it's okay...and recommended...that they ask for help at these events. I rarely get asked as well at actual events...but informal outings or run ins always involve a few trainer sets.
