Winter Peacocking: Scarves

I've recently gotten my hands on a scarf (Hand made gift from a HB8)

I want to put this to use this fall/winter.

Are there any general guidelines for these/what shirts(button ups, polo's) look best w/ a scarf?

It depends on a few factors. such as your personal style, and bodytype. Coming from Chicago, i've seen many different ways to wear scarfs. The problem is here in Texas, It really doesn't get that cold. I imagine you will get a couple of days this winter to wear such an item. just post your style and bodytype an I'll have some suggestions.
