Who gives a shit about the 'publicly degrading' people? He didn't call anyone out in particular so I think it's perfectly fine that he made this post.

For those of you that don't know Grimm personally, I'm going to stand up for him now. He's one of the cooler guys I've met in the Community and you can tell that he's totally focused on improving himself, his game. That is the point of this.

Grimm I know it doesn't matter to you, nor should it, because you're a strong guy. But, you've always had my respect.

I've always respected somebody that isn't afraid to lay their feelings out there. I bet Grimm is pretty comfortable with himself! Keep on keep'n it real player!

I can't understand your point. Is there some negative reaction on this thread to what he is saying? If so I don't see it. Grimm has a good point and I have eluded to this before in my posts to this board over the years.

Also who advocated 'publicly degrading' people? What am I missing here?? Obviously there is a back story behind this..

Welsh, I wasn't responding to your thread. I agree with you.

I was responding more to Smirks and PC's thoughts.

My 2 cents:

Truth is, I have a pretty active life, and as much as I REALLY DO want to get out there with you guys and learn from you, sometimes I really just can't make it. I've only made it out to sarge with community guys twice, and in the process have met a few of the guys. I always have one hell of a good time though, and I learn tons.
In the meantime, when I'm out at the bar with my other friends, I'm still trying things left and right and learning on my own (which, I have to say, can be tough when your friends give you shit for getting blown out several times in the night when they dont get blown out at all....which of course is because they don't even try).

Surely there have got to be more guys like me on here who just truly have a hard time making it out to the events for legitimate reasons. On the other hand, there also pretty much have to be a large number of keyboard-jockies on this forum given that the main page says there are 1340 members....

Who cares about em though? I imagine they're sitting at home in their computer chairs eating bag after bag of chips and reading the forum in between their WoW tournament sessions.
(Yea, thats right, I just knocked WoW.....and its in everyone's best interests not to challenge me on that either)

They sit at home and dream of being some kind of hollywood pimp....but never go out. All the while we go out as much as we can and live our lives. I see no point in worrying about them.

I look forward to meeting you at some point, Grimm.
Given some of the responses (and the people who made them) I suspect I could learn alot from you.

To the play-it-safers: Hey, I'm a newb, but I've got a "fuck-it mode" just like you do. Learn to use it.

When you get blown out, fuck-it and move on.
When you're too afraid to approach, fuck-it just go talk.
When you feel like you're gunna suck that night, and maybe you just shouldn't go out, fuck-it and go out anyway.
When you finally get that girl back to your place, and naked in your bed on the same night you met her......you get the point.
