How would you deal with this??

I did direct approach at the gym I work out. She is a cute blonde. I basically went for number close by being an interesting guy.
I was working out at the moment so I didn't have cell phone with me. My cellphone was in locker room downstairs.
I tell her after all the interaction, "I am gonna get my cellphone to get ur number, u can either choose to stay or disappear."
boom! I came back and she is still there at the same place I was. (btw I came back after like 5 minutes to see if she will leave or not)
I got her number and I stay for like 1-2 minutes then told her, "see ya" It seemed like everything went well.
As soon as I got her number, I called her cell to make sure she has my number... however she didn't have cell with her at that moment nor she knew I called her to leave my number. I called her earlier today. She picks up and hangs up. I am like what the hell? She texts me after 2 seconds asking, "who is this?" Well unfortunately, my fucking cellphone can't send text messages. It's a fucking curse. I didn't want to call her again and there was no way to communicate wtih her. I went to go work out. While I was working out, I guess she called. So I came back home and called her number. All of sudden, a dude picks up. He was saying "Hi this is (the girl)." I asked him for her, but it didn't seem like it was going to happen. I hung up.
So what should I do? She doesn't even know that I am the mysterious guy at the gym whom she was shy with. I realized that when I became really confident when talking to woman, even really hott girls get shy talking. Calling her is definitely not going to work out. I guess I am fuckin cursing at T-mobile for the shitty service. I am gonna have to try and get text message features on or something.

Oh and another question...
there is other cutie at the gym... this other cutie saw the whiole interaction between me and the blondie. She saw me walk over to blonde and talk to her then get number. I see the chance between me and blonde is dimm since stupid ass phone conversation. I want to give a try with this other cutie, but she saw the whole thing go down. I don't want her to think I am a player when I hit on her.
What should I do?

Too bad you didn't leave a message on the first call.

I would call in a couple days and talk on the phone like nothing happened, if voicemail comes up just leave a message like "hey jane it's jim, bla bla ttyl" like nothing happened and if she doesn't call back just don't contact her for at least another couple days.

OR

wait untill you see her again and charm her in person

With the other cutie I wouldn't sweat her seeing you get this other girls number. Maybe wait till after a few interactions before asking for her number and making her feel more special about you getting her number so she doesn't think you're some player that gets a lot of girls numbers.
