This topic has come up before. I've been lurking and I haven't seen it discussed lately.
I'm 39 and I'll be 40 in under 2 months. When a girl (heh, girl, not woman!) asks how old I am, I tell her to guess.
If she were to guess high, then I would be genuinely flattered, and I would say, "oh wow. I'm actually 39, but thanks."
BUT THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED! Unless you have no teeth or hair and pull your pants up to your nipples, she's never going to guess high.
If she were to guess low (happens every time), I act just slightly insulted and say, "oh god no! My balls have descended. I've been out of the training program long enough to know what I'm doing."
If you have a great frame about your age, then your perception will become her reality.

Alpha and Howie both are spot on. Bull.. i've had a Roth since I was 19 too so ignore them. ; ) One of my favorite online comic sites is xkcd.com and they've posted a creepiness formula for dating that's pretty spot on. It's: Don't date under: Age/2 + 7. However I must state here that I dont like math anyways so i ignore this formula. : )

Im 40 and I have never seen it as a problem. What you cant change, you showcase. One of my current girls is a hot little 20YO, so it is only as much of an issue as you let it be in your head. Inner game is key for getting past this sticking point.
Like the others recommended, make her jump through hoops by guessing your age first, then make her tell you her age before you tell her yours. That opens the opportunity for a funny neg, like "your too old for me" if she is really young. I then just tell them how old I am and then change subjects with a gool routine, role play, etc... If its an issue for them, they DQ themselves and I move on. There are a lot of younger girls that see my age as a plus.
Just dont ever lie about your age. That's an inner game destroyer at its worse because it will just reinforce negative thoughts you have.
