I posted this in the stylelife boards in response to a question about writing out goals. I like it so I thought I'd post it here.
spent a day free writing on the subject of my goals. I wrote down what I thought my goals were and then analyzed them. I wrote down questions that came up about the subject and then answered them. If I wanted to erase something I forced myself to leave it in to keep the record of my thoughts accurate. I looked for what I was trying to avoid telling myself.
When I figured I had my thoughts straight, I wrote up my goal in simple words in the first person present tense. Then I looked for any subtext might limit what I wanted to say. I then chose words like Luxury instead of comfort, independence instead of freedom and so on.
Don't quote someone else. Put the work in. grab a thesaurus and a dictionary. Keep working on it until you are really excited about it. Make it really your own thoughts and desires.
