P/U and goal setting

Postby El Fenix » Sun Jan 13, 2008 10:01 am

I'm wondering what people's goals are and if they keep track of them. This is something that I've recently started doing more. Having specific goals and keeping track is a great way to improve. The things that get measured get achieved. Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, et al. agree with this.

Usually my overall goal is to "get better at the game, so that when I meet a real keeper I can get her and indeed, keep her." But the question remains, what steps am I taking to get there? What have I done this month, this week, TODAY? to get me closer to that goal?

One of the things I'm noticing about keeping my Stylelife Log is that things are more clearly defined, and specific. I have a mission, and I talk in specific terms about how that went. I wish I had done something similar long ago.

When I started in the community, i kept a livejournal. I would write provate posts on how things went that night. I have logged the night I opened my first mixed set, and how amazed I was at how things unfolded just as I had heard they would. The night I did my first cold approach from a canned opener, and how nervous I was. On nights where I opened 2 or 3 sets and that was a great acomplishment. If you guys want, I can post them up here. Just let me know.
After that I stopped keeping track. And I was doing pretty well for a while, that when I started meeting guys like Vector, Neuromancer, The Scientist, and Finesse. Then life threw a curve, and things have been difficult for the second half of 2007. As some of you might know, I dont have a car right now. I have gotten to events and sarging only through the graciousness of great friend willing to come get my sorry arse :)
I still believe I was at my best right before the rug got pulled out from me. Things have been "on hold" since then.

With the new year I set some goals, and have been more keeping track of them. With that is getting better at the game again, and being more disciplined about what I need to work on, and not letting what I dont have disqualify me from using what I do have.

This is my story with goals, what is yours?
"Ask what makes you come alive and do it, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
"Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt."
"No one gives it to you, you have to take it."

My goal for 2008 was to sleep with 5 diff girls a month this year for a total of 60. The crazy thing is I have already abandoned this goal. I had to give this goal up because I realized it was probably possible to do. I hit 2 within the first week of the year and blew off a booty call which would of made 3. The reason I abandoned it was it just takes too much time to meet and spend time with these women. I would have to neglect way too much other stuff in my life and I can't afford that path.

Usually my overall goal is to "get better at the game, so that when I meet a real keeper I can get her and indeed, keep her."

That is no doubt my overall goal as well.

I would like to read your journal posts if you feel like posting them.

Thanks
