New to the community and looking to get out there

Like so many others i read "The Game" and it opened my eyes to the community and the opportunities that we have all had but just have not been taking advantage of.
I have watched the community from afar for a short time but now i am ready to actually get out in the field. I am a college student here and i am looking to learn and hopefully contribute to the community here in Dallas.
I would really like to find some wings from within the community that can help me get started, exchange information, and pioneer new things as well.

On a side note:
Has anyone been to any seminars or boot-camps? Would you recommend going to one and do you know when one might be in Dallas?
