this is my introduction

Hey guys!!! The name is tpxgloveboy....I'm very very new to all of this. I have probably done this all backwards, but I have read The Game twice and a friend of mine has given me the Venusian Arts Handbook to also read. I have not really been on the social scene much. I always am active and go out, but not to pick up girls and get their numbers. All my life, I have been the nice guy because I thought that's what girls liked, but I have been proven dead wrong.

Even though all the material has been field tested many many times, I have major approach anxiety and I think it won't work for me. I am in a fraternity at school and know lots of people, but I am the guy at the party that will talk to the people there, but won't be remembered by anybody at the end of the night. I would like to change this. I would like some suggestions and maybe if I could sarge with one of you each week and learn faster/more effectively, that would be great.

I am sick of being the guy that's just another face in the crowd....

hey tpx, by nature i myself am shy. when i was young my parents said in soccer the other kids would kick the ball to me and i would pretend i wouldn't see it. how sad, huh? it's in there deep. but when i tell people i meet that now, that i used to be shy, they think i'm joking.

when i hit middle school i received advice to take as many theatre / improv / speech classes as possible. it was terrifying and took me a ton of courage to pull the trigger - but i wanted it so bad i committed. and once i committed i told myself i would make it through no matter what. and you know what? most other people there were terrified. do you know the #1 fear people have? death? nooooo... public speaking. but with practice, you can overcome your fear in a controller environment. speaking and confidence, although some are naturals, it can be learned. you just have to grab your balls and say f*ck it i want this.

the first time i spoke in public it was video-taped. i figeted, kept saying ummmm ahhh every other word, swung my arms around, it was humiliating. but from that you learn. would you rather learn in front of a group of supporting people going through the same thing? or in front of the woman you have developed feelings for? and only a few years later you know what? i was chosen to deliver dozens of presentations in front of hundreds of people for my job. some people flat out told me that i was a natural at this. i am certain if i showed them my first few videotapes of my improv and speech classes they would laugh at such a notion.

i think you already know what you need to do. you just need to commit to it. i'm sure other guys will also post some good recommendations like just saying 'hi' to everybody you meet. the big question is, how bad do you want it?

best of luck
AK

well when you turn 21 feel free to shoot me an email. for the small cost of buying me a couple beers at the local watering hole, i will freely demonstrate night game approaches to all skeezers, skanks and skally-wags within a stone's throw of my vicinity
